Young Adults
St. George Young Adults is made up of post college age members of the parish who meet regularly for fellowship and stimulating discussion. A monthly dinner is scheduled for a local restaurant as a time to meet and share. The young adults have sponsored a summer film festival that premiered several important documentaries dealing with the ongoing conflict in the Middle East; a lively discussion followed each screening.
They also participated in a twelve week seminar entitled ‘Just Jesus' which explored the social teachings of t
he Church and encouraged outreach into the broader community in need. The seminar features guest presentors as specialists in specific areas of social justice or theology. Two weekend retreats are part of the ‘Just Jesus' experience. Past retreat directors have included Dr. Anthony Bashir and Bishop Seraphim Sigrist.
During the summer, the young adults get together for their ‘Religion on Tap' program. This program hosts discussion on contemporary issues as we move from one restaurant or pub to another over a six week period.
